First and foremost - enthusiasts
The dog-food company is run by individuals who are passionate about dog ownership. The company was established first and foremost through a desire to feed our own dogs the best possible diet. We live on a smallholding 10 miles west of Ipswich with our three dogs and one horse. Two of the three dogs currently compete in the sport of Schutzhund and our horse is lightly competed in dressage and jumping.
We are in the near future going to open a shop on the smallholding dedicated to our customers who wish to come and browse our selection of meats and other dog foods. Because we work our animals we are interested in giving them the best diet that we can to increase their ability to perform and of course recover, both mentally and physically, through their diet. Because our dogs were not happy on a dry food we switched to raw feeding in 2005 and noticed the difference straight away; they put on more muscle and bone whilst pups, they bulked out on muscle and of course they seemed to be able to recover from hard exercise a lot quicker.
Because we feed to our own animals the foods we sell to our customers, we feel confident that we will gain a good reputation for quality and generate more custom through word of mouth, which we have already achieved through our sports dog involvement.
Because we train with people who know dogs and what they need to not only train well but to grow correctly and remain healthy throughout their lives, we ourselves have been more involved in our dogs' growth and health to the point of even weighing their food for the correct amount of goodness, along with oils and vitamins found in our own cooking ingredients, such as corn oil for the skin, honey, a natural anti-oxident, seaweed for the hair and skin pigmentation, cod liver oil for the joints and general well being.
Feeding your dog a natural raw meat diet of chicken, beef, lamb, offal, tripe, all with bones and as much skin and hair as you dare works, just ask your breeder about the amount of pups in a litter from a raw fed bitch in relation to a dry fed one.
The Importance of a balanced Diet
The saying you are what you eat applies equally to dogs as it does to humans. A balanced diet is essential in ensuring your dog remains fit and healthy.
We believe strongly that dogs should derive the majority of their nutritional requirements from natural foods, ones that they would have come across in the wild.
Passion
The Dog Food Company is much more than just a business, it was founded through our interest in looking after the health of our own animals, which lead to a detailed understanding of the dietary requirements for dogs and also highlighted the shortfalls of feeding conventional dry and tinned foods
